Location: Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota
12,000 m2

The 12,000 sf Inver Glen Community Library in Dakota County was designed to take full advantage of its setting and to maximize its function as a community resource and public space. Solid brick walls contrasted with glass, steel and curved-wood beams convey both volume and substance, and the curved roof integrates the building with an adjacent tree-covered hill, the most dramatic feature of the seven acre site. Walking paths connect the library to nearby schools. Inside, the space is clearly delineated into public and staff support areas, allowing the public area to provide both a quiet retreat and gathering space.
